Mani Masserat puts his heart into any project he gets his hand on. He’s the definition of passion. After studying economics at Stockholm’s University for a while, he soon discovered that the noble art of filmmaking at Kulturama was far more interesting than accounting. His feature film debut Ciao Bella was well-received by critics; it competed in the Berlin Film Festival in 2008 and was selected by several major international film festivals where it received awards and much acclaim. Mani has directed classics like Our Friends’ Lives and recently Modus for TV4. His decisive directing style and an ability to create characters with depth and authenticity is clear in his productions. And when Mani isn’t on set, he’s cooking Persian cuisine.
